EXPLORING ART                               
Here’s the place to let your creativity flow!  Explore both sophisticated art supplies and everyday items in unique ways.  Your self-expression and artistic experience are encouraged to be as valuable as the wonderful project you take home each week.  A great time for those just starting to “dabble” in the arts or for experienced artists.  Projects are based on your interests and can include:  mosaics, woodwork, jewelry making, paper mache, scrapbooking, tie dye, stained glass, decoupage, sculpture, stamping, holiday crafting, marbling, printing and more.  You will be amazed at what you can do!

CREATE-A-MOTION    
Tap your feet, lift your arms, twirl and enjoy life through movement and music!  Enhance fitness, self-esteem and confidence through creative movement and modern dance. Movement expression is a joyful way to develop physical skills, channel energy, stimulate the imagination and relate to others.

MUSIC LOVERS SOCIETY             

Sing-along, dance and play percussion instruments in our high energy, interactive, joyful music program.  Activities encourage social connections, improved receptive and expressive language, communication and musical self-expression.  Share your enthusiasm through dance, performing a solo, helping to choose musical selections, as well as learning new songs.  Look forward to lively theme night festivities with our own special “Elvis” and more.

TUESDAY

COOKING FUN                                                                  
A tasty class for people who love to cook and those who love to learn.  Develop food preparation techniques, gain shopping experience with special trips out to local grocery store, kitchen safety, taste new foods and collect recipes for your favorite snacks, meals, desserts, salads and ethnic cuisine.  We’ll have an absolutely delicious time together!

DINNER FRIENDS             
Have a night out on the town enjoying dinner with friends. What’s your favorite – Chinese, Italian, Mexican, diners, deli-style?  We will sample new restaurants and types of food each week, based on group consensus.  Parents/caregivers drop off and pick up at dining sites. Each week, we collect memorabilia for a last session scrapbook to take home.

TERRIFIC TIMES
Sing, create art projects, and enjoy games and special celebrations during this evening of adaptive recreation and socialization.  Program rotates with music one week and creative recreation activities the next.  A supportive program where instructors provide individualized assistance leading to steps of independence.  Participants look forward to the fun of weekly activities, while gaining basic skills and personal development.

CONVERSATION CAFÉ
SPARC joins the global movement known as “Conversation Café,” where people develop relationships through conversation in a regular social group.  Help choose topics: friendship, vacations, interests, politics or whatever suits the group members.  Find meaning and acceptance as you share your curiosity about life! Coffee and snacks available for purchase.

ATHLETIC CLUB
Enjoy being part of our skills based athletic club as we explore a variety of recreational sports and active games while meeting new friends, having fun and keeping physically fit!  Warm-up, drills & adapted games will include basketball, baseball, soccer, track, hockey, volleyball and more.  Participants need to be able to follow directions and engage in team activities.

PET CONNECTION                                                           
Share your love while learning to care for our DELTA certified dogs.  Trainers from HEART (Human-Animal Educational And Relational Therapy) and their therapy pets offer you a special animal friendship in your life.  Group activities include walking dogs, giving them commands, playing Frisbee or fetch, as well as 1:1 for each participant and dog.  We will also enjoy varied animal theme activities: cooking dog biscuits, a calendar collage, dog monopoly, puzzles, and more.

ACTIVE & FIT - ON YOUR FEET OR IN YOUR SEAT
Exercise adaptable for beginners or experienced gym rats!  Get a total body workout sitting or standing while having such a good time it won’t feel like work at all.  Learn a variety of popular fitness techniques including stretching, aerobics, Pilates, yoga, use of gym props and stress-relieving relaxation exercises.  Open to all who bring a desire to stay in good health while having fun with friends in a lively class!

INTRO TO GOLF                               
Our golf pro gives personalized instruction in a small group lesson, preparing you to understand and enjoy the game of golf.  Learn body mechanics and golf techniques: your stance, to pivot and swing.  Practice golf etiquette, picking out a club and finding your way around the golf center.  Depending on group experience, may meet on driving range or professional course.

SOCIAL CIRCLE                
The Social Circle is where it’s at for young adults in their 30’s.  Have a typical experience socializing with peers at the end of the week. Meet with old and new friends, listen to music, try new activities, enjoy discussions, games, arts/crafts, community service projects, snack preparation, parties, and trips.  Be part of the community in a supportive environment with guidance in leisure skills, independence, community integration and money management.  Trips may include:  movie and dinner nights, bowling, golf, billiards, a sports club and more of your choice! Separate trip fees paid by participant at outings.

Looking for a great time on Friday nights? The Social Club is where it’s at for young adults in their 20’s.  Discover this social "oasis" to meet old and new friends, listen to music, try new activities, enjoy discussions, games, snacks, parties and be a part of the community. A supportive environment to learn leisure skills, practice independence and develop leadership.  Monthly trips may include:  movie and dinner nights, bowling, theatre, golf, billiards, swimming, hiking, summer cruise, baseball game, sports club and wherever your imagination takes us! * Halloween (10/30) and Spring (4/16) dances, Holiday parties, Renaissance Fair (12/4), Family BBQ (5/21-rain or shine.)

REC CLUB            (for young adults)
It’s the weekend!  Come be part of the gang playing gym activities, , engaging in warm-up, sports skills, games, and team challenges. Each week offers different activities with our adaptive athletics instructor: baseball, softball, field hockey, soccer drills, kickball, “SPUD” and more.  On the 1st Saturday each month we will share lunch together during an extended session, on or off site depending on restaurant availability near facilities.  Keep active and in shape while enjoying the sociability of good sportsmanship at this typical young adult experience.

FILM PRODUCTION WORKSHOP (for young adults)         
 “Show biz” isn’t just for Hollywood!  SPARC’s film production workshop is led by professional producer/editors, teaching you technical and creative movie making skills while enjoying a social group of friends.  We film neighborhood events, our own biographies, create fictional scripts, do movie reviews, music videos and conduct interviews.  Develop skills in camera work, lighting, props, editing, directing, critiquing and being on camera (optional.) New this year, visit an editing studio and trips. Past on-location shoots  included: farmer’s market, historic art district, political candidates’ forum, Guiding Eyes, Leo’s car wash, fundraising walk, ham radio convention and more.  Share your creative accomplishments with family and friends on DVD’s or www.YouTube.com/SPARCIncTV.
