Registration Information

PROGRAM LOCATIONS
SPARC programs are offered in community settings throughout Westchester County, as well as sites in Orange County, the Bronx and Manhattan. We serve participants in their local neighborhoods, offering over 95 activities at 50 sites. Facilities are fully accessible.

ELIGIBILITY
SPARC welcomes and accommodates individuals with developmental disabilities. We also offer "Kids Express," a mainstream, inclusionary after-school program. Our staff:participant ratio is based on members' functional abilities, but is not suitable for individuals requiring 1:1 supervision. We cannot support behavioral issues that may create safety concerns. Each session is designed with sensitivity to participants' strengths, needs and peers. Groups are co-ed, based on age and capabilities. Membership is open regardless of residence.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
New participants must file our registration application prior to joining programs. Returning group members must update registration forms with annual medical authorization for recreation participation. Return participants meeting deadlines have first choice should a waiting list be necessary. Registration deadlines are 2 weeks prior to program start dates. If deadline has passed, please call to inquire about vacancies. We will make every effort to accommodate participants.

PROGRAM FEES AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Full payment of registration fees is required prior to program start dates. Please inquire about scholarships or flexible payment plans if fees create a hardship. Call (914) 243-0583 to request a financial aid application. Out-of-district fees may apply for non-Westchester residents.  Full year enrollment is encouraged to save your spot in programs.

PROGRAM DISMISSAL
Pick-up is expected promptly at conclusion of activities. Staff commitments prevent extended arrangements. Late arrivals will be charged $10.00 per 5 minute increments.

WEATHER ADVISORY/CANCELLATIONS
As program locations cover a broad geographic range, weather varies between areas and may cause cancellations in only some areas of the county.  You can check the WHUD.com storm center or listen to 100.7 FM for updated information.  There will also be information on the SPARC answering machine. Attempts will be made to make-up cancelled sessions when scheduling allows.

SPARC office hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.
